You don't have to wait till summer nights to see Paramount+'s new Grease prequel. In spring, the musical series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will explore the female gang's genesis narrative as a bunch of outcasts, as well as how they got their trademark jackets.
At the TV Critics Association winter press tour, Annabel Oakes (Atypical, Minx) claimed that she wasn't initially interested in adapting Grease for television, but changed her mind after researching the 1950s and 1960s high school experience and learning about the real-life Pink Ladies. One of the show's stars, Ari Notartomaso, described the performance as "a love letter to the ladies of Grease and to the folks who were not granted screen time in the original."
